Instructions:
Students are required to select an outcome from any current primary syllabus and illustrate how this outcome may be approached from any three of the five major curriculum conceptions covered in the course. It is important that the outcome selected is stipulated clearly at the start of the assignment. For each conception, its associated beliefs, theories, concepts, aims and objectives relating to the 'enacted' curriculum need to be addressed according to all or most of the following categories: * Pedagogy (e.g., didactic, student centred);
* Students' learning (e.g., academic, developmental, facts, skills, values);
* Resources (e.g., space, equipment, material and technology);
* Classroom organisation (e.g., furniture, going beyond ‘four walls’);
* Assessment and reporting (e.g., standardised tests, authentic assessment, norm referencing, criterion referencing) ;
* Curriculum design (e.g., subject centred, cohesive, integrated);
* Formal structure of the school (e.g., organisation, timetable, roles);
* Culture of the school (e.g., norms, values, relationships);
* The way in which teachers work (e.g., isolation, collaboration).
